11 arrested after parts of stadium damaged during game

11 people have been arrested after parts of a football stadium were damaged last night (4th December).

Seats, toilets and windows were broken in the away section at Vale Park during the Checkatrade Trophy match between Port Vale and Stoke City u21s.

Staffordshire Police said the disruptive behaviour had come from 'a large section of away fans', after Stoke City lost 4-0.

It's believed around 8,000 fans were at the match between the two local rivals.

Around 200 seats were damaged in the away end, with a number of items thrown onto the pitch and aimed at officers and opposition fans during the game.

Police say their investigations are continuing and will be examining CCTV footage in the coming days.
