200 Christmas cards from around the world for seriously ill five-year-old boy

  • A seriously ill five-year-old said the only thing he wanted for Christmas was some Christmas cards.

  • His parents appealed on social media and so far they've received 200 - from as far away as Australia.

A seriously ill five-year-old boy from Walsall has Christmas cards dropping through his letter box from as far away as Australia and America.

When his mum asked Trafford what he wanted for Christmas, this is what he said,

So his parents put out an appeal on social media and he's had hundreds of cards flooding in from around the world including Australia and America.

The phone hasn't stopped ringing with people asking for their address.

Trafford's condition, hypoplastic left heart syndrome, means the left side of his heart didn't grow in the womb. The family only learned about it at three days old as he was about to be discharged.

He had open heart surgery at five days old and spent seven months at Birmingham children's hospital.
