Fears for future of archery club after thieves steal vital equipment
An archery club says it's future could be in doubt after thieves broke in to the clubhouse and stole thousands of pounds worth of antique trophies, archery equipment, and caused major damage to the buildings.
The Royal Leamington Spa Archery Society says it's the second blow to their club in recent months, as it's been told it needs to find a new home by the ground's owners too, as part of their redevelopment plans for the site.
The club has a long history of success, having been founded in 1949, and has produced six former junior and senior international archers, and four-time Olympian Naomi Folkard trained there.
There are currently 100 members of the club that will now only be able to use limited facilities.
The break in is thought to have happened between 9pm on Monday evening (26th November) and the early hours of the following morning.
Police are investigating, and anyone with information is asked to come forward.
