Hero Derbyshire Police dog Axle gets bravery award

A Derbyshire Police dog who was stabbed three times on duty has been recognised for his outstanding bravery at an awards ceremony.
PD Axle and his handler were called to an incident in Riddings in July, where the dog was stabbed by Matthew Stretch. He was jailed for six years and seven months.
At an awards ceremony at Pride Park Stadium in Derby, PD Axle received a rosette and a bag full of treats to mark his bravery. Other officers from Derbyshire Police were also recognised for their bravery on duty.
