Giant puppets to parade at Diwali Leicester celebration
A giant puppet parade and performance will bring a new twist to this year's Diwali celebrations in Leicester.
Towering 10ft high, they're the re-imagined Hindu mythological characters of Hanuman and Ravana.
They will lead a procession of 30 dancers, four Dhol drummers and two stilt walkers before a dance battle between armies of monkeys and demons.
The Diwali Puppet Parade and Performance takes place at the city's Clock Tower at 5pm on Friday 2nd November.
Diwali Leicester begins with its famous Lights Switch-On in Belgrave Road on Sunday 28th October when more than 40,000 people are expected to attend.
Leicester's version of the 'festival of lights' is one of the largest of its kind outside India.
