Body believed to be missing man who had dementia
The body of a man found in woodland is believed to be missing man, 70-year-old Anthony Ward from Morton in Derbyshire.
Officers were called to Straw Lane in Stretton, Staffordshire on Monday afternoon at 2.30pm.
Although formal identification is yet to take place, Mr Ward’s family have been informed.
He was a keen walker and had been diagnosed with early onset dementia. He was reported missing on Thursday, August 2.
Detective Sergeant Adam Gascoigne said: “I would like to thank the residents of Morton and the many people who helped search for Mr Ward.”
