Worcester kayaker missing in race off Dorset coast, helicopter, lifeboats and police involved in search.
Police are searching for a kayaker who has gone missing off the coast of Dorset.
Alistair Collier, 60, was last seen taking part in a race off Studland at midday on Saturday. He was spotted at the beginning of the race near the pier, but hasn't been seen since. Police are appealing for the public's help in finding him.
Around 15 kayakers were taking part in the event and Mr Collier was reported missing about half way through the race.
The Coastguard is coordinating the search with two RNLI lifeboats, a helicopter and the police involved.
Mr Collier is white, five feet two inches tall and of medium build. He has brown eyes, black greying hair, a goatee, and speaks with a northern accent. He was wearing a red life jacket.
He was in a white canoe with stabiliser and a blue stripe on top.
