Man charged with wounding after police officer struck by car
A man has been charged after a police officer suffered serious leg injuries when she was struck by a car.
PC Claire Bond remained in hospital yesterday (Mon) with extensive leg injuries, including multiple fractures and a broken kneecap.
A 25-year-old man has now been charged with wounding with intent to do grievous bodily harm following the incident in Stafford on Sunday.
Gurajdeep Malhi, from the Sandon Road area, is also charged with driving dangerously in and around Stafford, driving whilst disqualified in Corporation Street, Stafford, failing to stop and driving without insurance.
He is due before magistrates in Newcastle-under-Lyme this morning along with a 30-year-old woman.
Lucy Maria Bullmore, of Moss Pit in Stafford, is charged with driving dangerously in Stafford on the same day, failing to provide a specimen for breath analysis and failing to stop.
