Man denies killing father-of-two after road crash

A 21-year old man has denied the manslaughter of a father-of-two from Nottingham who is alleged to have assaulted after a road accident.

The body of 37-year-old Stephen Walsh was found at his home in Mapperley just before 6am on 30 July, the day after he was involved in a car crash in the area. Police said he had suffered serious head injuries in an assault at the property.

Oliver Brown, a self-employed double glazier will face trial next year at Nottingham Crown Court after pleading not guilty to unlawful killing. He's expected to stand trial alongside his 20-year-old girlfriend Roseann Newton, who has been charged with assisting an offender in relation to a statement made to police.

Newton is due to appear at Nottingham Magistrates' Court on September 11th. Brown has been granted conditional bail to reappear at the same court for trial on April 15th next year.
