The Specials' Neville Staple will play Godiva in tribute to grandson

The Specials star Neville Staple has confirmed will play at the Godiva Festival this afternoon just a day after his grandson was killed in a knife attack.

His family have said the show will be a tribute to 21-year-old Fidel who died in hospital after being stabbed in the stomach in Coventry city centre on Saturday morning. He was found near Cub M.

The performance by the Neville Staple Band on the main stage at 4.40pm will be used to highlight the tragedy of knife crime.

And in a post on the band's Facebook page, Neville wrote:

A second man is in a serious condition in hospital after suffering multiple stab wounds. He was found badly injured in City Arcade.

A 23-year-old man has been arrested and West Midlands Police has launched a murder enquiry.
