Investigation launched after 16-year-old boy stabbed in park

An investigation has been launched after a teenage boy was stabbed in Handsworth Park yesterday evening (Monday 27 August).

Police were called by paramedics to the York Road area of the park in Handsworth at around 6.40pm.

The 16-year-old suffered a stab wound to the back and was taken to hospital where he remains in a serious condition.

A 15-year-old girl also suffered minor injuries.

No arrests have been made but Police want anybody who has information to come forward.
