Photographs show children hanging out on a level crossing - apparently oblivious to any danger
Children have been photographed sitting, lying down and playing on a level crossing, seemingly oblivious to the danger which could be seconds away, and travelling at up to 60mph - meaning certain death.
Network Rail and British Transport Police have released the images, taken in Rutland, to warn families about the dangers of level crossings and railway lines, as the summer holidays get underway and children may be playing outside.
Network Rail say in the last five years there have been more than 2,000 incidents on level crossings involving young people.
