Woman, 98, whose mobility scooter was stolen and smashed up gets free replacement
A 98-year-old woman whose mobility scooter was stolen and smashed up has been given a brand new one, after her story made national headlines.
The scooter, which had Mrs King's handbag inside, was taken from the front garden of her home in Kirkby-in-Ashfield, Nottinghamshire.
Police later found it destroyed at a park.
She has since been given a free replacement scooter by the company Parkgate Mobility.
Police are still investigating the theft, and urging anyone with information to come forward.
Sergeant Simon Scales, of Nottinghamshire Police, said officers were "following a number of lines of enquiry".
