Woman seriously injured after corrosive substance thrown at her face
A 47-year-old woman has been seriously injured after a corrosive substance was thrown in her face in Ladywood, Birmingham.
The substance was thrown at her by someone on a passing moped or pushbike, according to West Midlands Police.
The attack happened outside a house in Marroway Street at around 10am on Tuesday 24 July.
The woman sought medical attention around three miles away at Astbury Avenue, Smethwick.
Paramedics found she had serious chemical burns to her face. She was given pain relief while her face was rinsed.
She was taken to hospital for specialist burns treatment.
ITV News Central has spoken to the woman's daughter, who said she was "very concerned" about her mother, whose condition was "critical".
