Man pleads not guilty to manslaughter and robbery of 100-year-old woman

A man charged with the manslaughter and robbery of a 100-year-old woman has pleaded not guilty in court.

Sofija Kaczan was allegedly robbed close to the junction of St Chads Road and Empress Road in Normanton in Derby at around 8:45am on the 28th of May. She suffered a broken neck and died days later.

Arthur Waszkiewicz, of Wolfa Street, Derby pleaded not guilty to the charges at Derby Crown Court today (5th of July). The 39-year-old was remanded in custody and will next appear in court on the 5th of December.
