Missing sea eagle returns to Warwick Castle
A sea eagle that went missing from Warwick Castle has returned. Nikita sparked a public hunt after flying off on Tuesday (26 June).
The white stellar, who has a seven foot wingspan, was spotted as far away as Cambridgeshire. She was found soaking in the sun in a field in Hill Wootten, three miles from her home, and has since been reunited with her handler.
The castle have thanked the public for being 'eagle-eyed' and looking out for her.
Nikita has been at the castle since 2004 and has flown away before, but the castle hope her outing has quelled her curiosity and she will continue being a part of the Flights of the Eagles show.
