Christmas Eve robber jailed for 4 years
A "prolific criminal" who tried to steal money from a shop in Leicester on Christmas Eve will spend four years behind bars.
18-year-old Ayoub Tarey was seen on CCTV threatening staff at Leo's Supersaver store in Evington on December 24 last year with a fake gun.
One staff member managed to use his martial arts skills to disarm Tarey before the police arrived.
Ten other offences that Tarey admitted to in interview, including several robberies, were taken into consideration by the judge.
Tarey, of Linden Drive, Leicester, pleaded guilty to robbery, possession of an imitation firearm and assault at Leicester Crown Court today (Friday).
