Truck ram raids shop in attempt to steal cash machine

A truck has been driven into the window of a shop in an attempt to steal a cash machine.

The truck was driven into a Co-op in the early hours of this morning.

As police arrived on the scene, the offenders fled, smashing the windscreen of a police car - while two officers were inside.

One police officer suffered cuts to his face.

It happened around 1.45am today on Elmton Road in Creswell.

Derbyshire Police are asking anyone with information to come forward.
