A racing driver, who lost both his legs following a horrific crash at Donington Park in Leicestershire, is set to make a comeback this weekend.

Billy Monger will make his racing return at Oulton Park, Cheshire on March 31 and April 2 for the BRDC British F3 Championship season opener with the Carlin team.

The 18-year-old was involved in a major crash last April and the teenager lost both of his lower legs.

Billy, who was just 17-years-old at the time, was trapped in his vehicle for more than 90 minutes. The crash was one of the worst seen in motorsport history.

But now, twelve months on, he is set to get back behind the wheel.

He will be racing in a specially-adapted car with a throttle on the steering wheel and a single pedal for braking with his prosthetic leg.
