Motorways in the East and West Midlands will be patrolled by a new police vehicle - specifically for the region, designed to catch people not paying attention whilst driving.
The unmarked HGV cab is fitted with cameras and has been used in a nationwide trial which saw almost 200 drivers pulled over in the East Midlands since April 2015 - and 576 drivers in the West Midlands.

The region will now have its own dedicated cab to patrol motorways and catch drivers behaving carelessly.
Police say the higher angle of the cab makes it easier to spot when people are using their phones whilst driving, even if they hold them out of sight.
