There are a number of weather warnings in place for snow and ice in the East and West Midlands this weekend as a mini version of the Beast from the East arrives.

Up to 3cm of snow could fall in some parts if the region and up to 10cm on higher ground.

The Met Office has issued an amber warning for parts of Lincolnshire, Derbyshire, and Staffordshire, saying that people should expect travel delays.

There are yellow warnings of snow and ice for Leicestershire, Staffordshire and other parts of the West Midlands. Some rural communities could be cut off.

The cold weather is only set to last a few days and by Tuesday temperatures will return to normal for this time of year.

The Beast from the East caused major travel disruption earlier this month, leaving hundreds of schools closed and people stranded.
