Police dog handler labelled a 'hero' after chase injury

A police dog handler who managed to chase down a suspected motorbike thief despite having his arm impaled on a metal fence has been labelled a 'hero'.

PC Dan Thomas, from West Midlands Police, suffered serious injuries during the chase, but carried on tracking the suspect with his trusty German Shepherd partner at his side.
