Father of Mylee Billingham in serious but stable condition

The father of eight-year-old Mylee Billingham is now in a serious but stablecondition after undergoing surgery for stab wounds to his stomach, police have said.

The schoolgirl, from Brownhills near Walsall, died in hospital after being found with knife wounds at a bungalow on Valley View on Saturday (January 20th).

Her father, Bill Billingham, was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder on the same day, shortly after posting a picture of his daughter on his Facebook page.

West Midlands Police have said he is now in a serious but stable condition in hospital after previously being in a critical condition.

Officers have not yet spoken to Billingham as he is under sedation.

The force added that a post-mortem examination had taken place and they are awaiting the results.
