Couple name long-awaited baby after their IVF doctor
A couple who tried for five years to have a baby, suffering four miscarriages on the way, have finally welcomed a baby girl into their family - and they've named her after their IVF doctor.
Jane and Bav Patel from Solihull spent twenty thousand pounds on IVF before finally having their baby girl Abbey. They named her after Dr Abey Eapen from the private CARE fertility clinic in Edgbaston in Birmingham, where they had treatment.
Jane was induced at 36 weeks and four days at Good Hope Hospital because she was classed as a high-risk pregnancy. She gave birth naturally on November the 8th, and Abbey weighed a healthy 7lb 1oz.
Abbey has also been given "Raye" meaning ‘ray of sunshine’ as a middle name, along with Loxley, after the clinic in Nottingham which also helped with parts of the IVF procedure.
