Search for driver after cyclist dies in hit-and-run

A cyclist has died after suffering a serious head injury in a suspectedhit-and-run.

Police are appealing for witnesses after the incident in Midland Road, Darlaston, Walsall, at about 3.20am this morning (22 November).

The driver of the car involved in the collision left the scene, according toWest Midlands Police.

A search is under way to trace the vehicle and the person at the wheel.

Ambulance crews arrived to find members of the public performing CPR on the victim, minutes after the crash.

A spokesman for West Midlands Ambulance Service said:

Police were called by paramedics 'to a man who'd suffered a serious headinjury after being knocked off his bike by a car'.
