Graveyard refurbishment provides 1600 new burial plots
Refurbishment and extension works on a Gedling Cemetery have now been completed.
It's hoped the works at Carlton Cemetery will provide enough room for burials to continue at the same rate for the next 25 years following the creation of a further 1600 plots.
The two month project has seen the site levelled with new areas, the creation of new footpaths and the planting of a wild meadow.
Gedling Borough Council, who carried out the work said the significant investment has secured plots for local residents for the foreseeable future.
