Two charged following supermarket distraction theft
Two men have been charged in connection with a theft from a pensioner's handbag, captured on CCTV in a supermarket in Shropshire.
The 87-year-old victim, who has not been named, is alleged to have been distracted by a male while another rifled through her bag and removed a purse.
Officers investigating the theft in Aldi, Oswald Road, Oswestry, on 24 October, have now charged two men:
Catalin-mihai Verea, aged 44 and of Thimblemill Road, Smethwick, has been charged with theft from a person
Florin-iulian Bajanaru, aged 38 and of Mill Hill, Smethwick, has been charged with theft from a person
They have both been bailed to appear at Telford Magistrates' Court on 28 November.
