Local woman takes to the sky to celebrate 90th birthday

A thrill-seeking charity fundraiser has celebrated her 90th birthday in style with a hair-raising paragliding trip.

Connie Smith from Grantham in Lincolnshire, ticked paragliding off her bucket-list all in aid of her favourite pet charity, PDSA.

She took to the skies in Southern Spain, where her son lives, enjoying the breath-taking coastline.

Connie insists she was never worried about the experience and claims her original birthday plans were much more extreme:

Connie comes from a line of long-living families, whose mother and aunts lived well into their hundreds. She’s hoping to make it to a ripe old age too, and so far, she’s showing no signs of slowing down.
