Severn Trent Water says water has been restored to the majority of customers in Cheltenham following a mains burst overnight.
The major disruption to water supplies in Cheltenham began this morning after a water mains burst which has been traced to a field.
Thousands of homes and businesses were thought to have been affected and at least 18 schools were closed.
