Iconic Tower Ballroom forced to close in next 24 hours
Birmingham's iconic Tower Ballroom, which is well known for running community events and weddings, could be shut down tomorrow (October 31).
The boss, Peter Sangha, says he has struggled to pay the rent due to the city council implementing shorter trading hours and increasing his rent from £107,000 per year to £137,000.
Mr Sangha also said it has been hard to focus fully on the business as he has gone through three family deaths over the past two years.
Birmingham City Council said they have tried to resolve the situation with Mr Sangha, and have held talks with the businessman.
However, the authority has now had to take legal action, and has been granted a possession order.
