Swimmer Adam Peaty has been shortlisted for the Swimming Athlete of the Year Award.

The Uttoxeter-born athlete is up against the likes of Ben Proud and James Guy for the award from British Swimming, the national governing body for swimming and other water sports.

The Olympic champion was recently honoured with an MBE after breaking his own world record in the 100 metre breast stroke at Rio last year. He's also been named in Team England's swimming team for the 2018 Gold Coast Commonwealth Games.

Voting for the award opened at midday today (23rd October) and will stay open for five days.
