The finish line is in sight for two runners who will be taking part in the Birmingham International Marathon this weekend, as part of a year-long fundraising challenge to run 12 half marathons in 12 months.

Friends Mike Williams and Dan Wolstencroft, who are both from Redditch, started their challenge in October 2016 at the Great Birmingham Run.

So far, the pair have completed 12 half marathons, and now have their sights set on their ‘Lucky 13’ challenge this Sunday.

It means that once the runners cross the finish line, they will have run over 182 miles of races in the last year.

The ambitious challenge is all in aid of raising money to support three charities - The Sick Children’s Trust, The Ups of Downs and The Blue Cross.
