Man arrested in connection with stabbing

A man has been arrested in connection with a stabbing that happened in Small Heath, Birmingham, in the early hours of this morning.

Police say the 29-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and is currently in custody.

It’s understood that a 14-year-old boy was stabbed several times in an attack that happened near the mosque in Herbert Road, just after 1am this morning (Saturday 30 September).

Reports say he was taken to hospital where he remains in a critical condition.

The cordon remains in place whilst specialist teams are carrying out forensic investigations.
