Martin Johnson's tips for the 100-mile Velo Birmingham

Former England rugby captain, Martin Johnson, has given his advice ahead of the 100-mile Velo Birmingham cycle ride on Sunday.

The ex-Leicester Tigers man is taking part in the ride himself, having grown a passion for cycling since his retirement from professional rugby.

The ride begins in Birmingham, and travels through Herefordshire, Worcestershire, Staffordshire, Sandwell and Dudley along the way.

15,000 riders are taking part, and are expected to raise a total of more than £1million for Midlands-wide charities.
