Armed police on streets as national security level reaches 'critical'
Armed police have been patrolling Birmingham's streets today in the wake of yesterday's terror attack in London.
West Midlands Police have urged the public to report anything suspicious. It comes as the UK's threat level remains critical.
Assistant Chief Constable Gareth Cann is leading West Midlands Police's response to the attacks and increased security state. He said:
Elsewhere in the region, West Mercia and Warwickshire Police have reminded people to stay vigilant and have increased the number of armed response vehicles available.
Staffordshire Police are also putting more officers on the streets, including armed police.
