Teenager arrested for trying to smuggle drugs into V Festival

A 17-year-old boy has been arrested for trying to smuggle drugs into V Festival.

200 tablets were found in a bag he was carrying into the event, at entrance of the festival.

The teenager from Stone has been arrested for possession with intent to supply and has been taken to Watling Police Station for questioning.

In a separate incident, 28 MDMA pills were seized from another teenager.

The 16-year-old boy was ejected from the event and referred to youth offending for rehabilitation.

Inspector Andrew Shackleton, onsite commander of the V Festival, said: "News like this proves that in partnership with the event's security team we are very effectively preventing drugs coming onto site.

"If anyone thinks they can bring drugs onto site, remember your bag will be searched and our sniffer dogs will come and say hello too."
