Man dies in crash on M6

Police are investigating a serious collision on the M6 this morning.

A 36-year-old man died and a second was taken to hospital between junctions 6 and 5.

Ambulance crews found a man in cardiac arrest at the roadside, having suffered serious injuries in the incident, he died at the scene.

Another injured man, believed to be in his 40s, was treated for neck and chest injuries and taken to Heartlands Hospital.

The M6 was closed in both directions for an air ambulance to land at around 9.30am.

All lanes have now re-opened.
