Firefighters have been dealing with a fire in Staffordshire, that was reportedly struck by lightning.

Appliances from Stone, Loggerheads and Hanley are currently at the incident on Chatcull Lane, along with a water carrier from Cheadle.

The Service were called at 1.31pm today after reports that the building was set alight by a bolt of lightning.

The fire has burned through the roof space of the home causing some of the structure to collapse.

The firefighters are using four breathing apparatus and two hose reel jets to tackle the fire.

The Fire Service say the incident is being made more difficult to contain as there is a limited water supply in the area and their water carrier is being refilled to put out the blaze.
