Thieves use JCB digger to steal cash machine from shop wall
An investigation is underway after thieves used a JCB digger to steal a cash machine from a village shop.
It happened at 2.55am this morning (27 July) officers at the Co-op on New Road, Stoney Stanton.
A JCB digger was used to smash through the window, then grab the ATM from the inside the shop.
The JCB had been stolen from Gilmorton earlier that night. It was left at the scene.
The suspects fled in another car, thought to either be a dark BMW or Mercedes Estate.
Detectives are investigating whether it is linked two other ram raids in Leicestershire. They happpened in Ashby on 10 July and Thringstone on 5 June.
