German war widow, 97, visits grave of soldier husband
A 97-year-old woman from Germany has travelled to the UK to visit the grave of her husband, who died fighting in the Second World War.
Waltrud Kraft lost her husband when she was 21 years old.
The couple had a three-month-old daughter who never got the chance to know her father.
Waltrud has been visiting her husband's grave every year for the past two decades.
Waltrud's husband is one of 5,000 German soldiers, from both World Wars, who are buried at the German Military cemetery in Cannock Chase.
Relatives have been laying wreaths on the graves of their loved ones, 50 years since the dedication of the cemetery.
The grave are maintained by teenagers from Staffordshire and Germany who visit each year.
