"Calculated" breast surgeon awaits decision on whether he will be struck off
Breast surgeon Ian Paterson is waiting to hear whether he will be struck off by the Medical Practitioners Tribunal Service after carrying out needless operations for more than a decade.
The 59-year-old was sentenced to 15 years in prison in May after he was convicted of 17 counts of wounding with intent and three counts of unlawful wounding against 10 patients.
He was employed by the NHS and also worked at private hospitals operated by Spire Healthcare at Solihull and Little Aston in the West Midlands.
