Adam Peaty wins gold at the World Championships

Swimmer Adam Peaty, from Uttoxeter won the gold medal in the 100m breaststroke in the second fastest time ever.

The Olympic Champion who trains at Loughborough University was just outside his world record time, finishing in 57.47 seconds, setting a new championship record.

This is his fourth World gold medal and he will be hoping to add to his tally in the 50 metres breaststroke later on at the Championships.

Sarah Vasey from Allestree in Derbyshire will compete in the 100m breaststroke final tomorrow after qualifying in today's semi-final.
