Family feared 'roof would collapse' in Kos Earthquake
A family from Coventry told of their terror after being caught up in a terrifying earthquake on the Greek island of Kos.
Tom Perry, aged 30, was on his first family holiday with girlfriend Chanelle, 26, and son Ollie, just nine months, when the earthquake hit last night.
It was at 1.30am when his room started to shake, and his first instinct was to grab little Ollie.
Kos was nearest to the epicentre and appeared to be the worst-hit, with two deaths so far reported and structural damage to buildings.
Fortunately, Tom, from Coundon, and his family are safe, but are dreading the next two days before they come home.
Tom and his family were told that they were able to go back into the hotel, but just minutes after re-entering their hotel room, the wardrobes started to shake. They decided to sleep outside on sun loungers through the night.
