Man injured as car smashes through living room wall

A man has been injured after a BMW smashed into his living room wall, hitting the settee where he was lying watching TV.

It happened in the early hours of Saturday morning, when the white car smashed through the wall of the house on Castle Road in Selly Oak.

26-year-old Amin Jalili has been taken to the Queen Elizabeth hospital and is said to be ‘in shock’.

Detectives are now trying to trace the driver of the car.

Mr Jalili is still in hospital awaiting the results of scans.

The fire service and engineers came to investigate the damage to the house and isolated the energy and water.

The BMW has been removed.

A West Midlands Police spokeswoman confirmed police were called just after 5.30am yesterday morning and that Mr Jalili's injuries are not thought to be serious.
