Mother denies manslaughter over water park death
The mother and step-father of a five-year-old boy who drowned at a water park have denied manslaughter charges.
Lynsey Dunn and Paul Smith pleaded not guilty to the unlawful killing of Charlie Dunn and a separate charge of child cruelty.
The couple, from Tamworth in Staffordshire, were charged last month after Charlie died at Bosworth Water Park in July last year.
Dunn, who is 28, and 36-year-old Smith also denied four other child cruelty offences - relating to three other children - during a plea hearing at Leicester Crown Court.
Smith appeared via video-link and pleaded not guilty to two charges of witness intimidation alleged to have been committed in March and June this year.
Judge Nicholas Dean QC remanded Smith in custody and granted Dunn bail until their trial begins at Birmingham Crown Court on November 29.
