Re-appeal for witnesses after alleged serious assault

Police are reissuing an appeal for information following an alleged serious assault in a pub that left a 69-year-old man with life-threatening injuries.

The incident is said to have taken place at The Beeches pub in High Street, Staveley, at about 6.20pm on Wednesday 21 June.

The victim remains critically ill in hospital.

A 45-year-old man has been taken into police custody to be interviewed following the incident.
