Kennels opened in memory of officer killed on duty
Nottinghamshire Police have unveiled their new dog kennels in memory of an officer who was killed in the line of duty.
PC Ged Walker was a dog handler who died 14 years ago. He was dragged along a road as he tried to remove the keys from a car which had been stolen.
Hundreds of thousands of pounds have now been spent upgrading the new dog kennels at the force's headquarters in Arnold.
Some dogs will be trained here while others come for assessment, and some just for a bit of TLC.
The kennels were officially opened today by Walker's widow Tracey, who said it was a proud day for her family.
