A notorious inner city lock-up which housed the likes of killer Fred West and the Peaky Blinders opens to the public today.

Steelhouse Lane, in Birmingham, first opened its cells in 1892 and closed last year.

The public will be able to have a tour around the prison just three times this summer, with the first one happening today.

The open days are designed to be informational and are suitable for both adults and children.
