Nottingham parking levy scheme wins air quality award

Nottingham's controversial workplace parking levy has won an award for helping to improve the city's air quality.

The council says since the project was launched 4 years ago almost 5 million journeys are made by public transport.

The workplace parking levy requires any company with 11 or more employees to pay a yearly parking charge.

The Ashden awards are given to pioneers of sustainable energy projects.
