First day on the job for new chief constable for Derbyshire Constabulary

The new chief constable for Derbyshire Constabulary takes up his new role today (1 June).

Peter Goodman, takes over the reins as chief constable from Mick Creedon who retired yesterday after 10 years in the post.

Peter has served in three forces during his 29 years’ service. He started his career in Nottinghamshire where he served ranks from PC to detective chief inspector.

He then moved to the West Midlands before returning to Derbyshire as assistant chief constable and then on to the East Midlands Special Operations Unit as deputy chief constable for the region.
